If you started your Whole30 on January 1 then congratulations! You're in the final week and now it's just a few more days until you can begin your reintroduction phase (if you're following the program) or go back to whatever dietary lifestyle you were living before. If you're just getting started - don't worry! You're going to CRUSH these 30 days.
In terms of Whole30, they discourage snacking because they want to make sure you are eating meals that fill you up. Snacking is something that people tend to do when they are bored or out of habit and those are the habits you are trying to break with Whole30. That being said, sometimes you just need a snack. Sometimes you need a little something extra before a workout, to energize you through a long shift at work or because you don't have access to an actual meal right then. Sometimes you're a cranky biatch because you haven't eaten in 16 hours and if you don't have something to eat you're going to lose your mind. It happens to the best of us.
What's important is making sure that you are having an appropriate snack. You need to make sure it fits within the Whole30 guidelines and will cure that hunger. There are plenty of ideas online for "Whole30 compliant" snacks, but the sad reality is that sometimes people aren't fully versed in Whole30 guidelines. Plus, since it's not a regulated area anyone can slap that label on their recipe. It's vital that you are making sure these snack options are truly Whole30.
