Paleo Mother's Day Dessert Recipe Round Up

Mother's Day is this Sunday and while I won't be spending the day with my mom or future mother-in-law (Oh hi, I got engaged last weekend!!) I'm still excited for the day to be here. I've never been one to buy into "Hallmark Holidays" but I love any excuse to show the moms in my life how much I appreciate them.

One way I show my appreciation is by baking a special treat for people I love. A gift of food may not seem like much to some, but it shows how much time and effort you put in to providing someone with something so lovely. For this Mother's Day, I've rounded up a bunch of Paleo and Gluten Free recipes (a few aren't strict Paleo) that not only taste good but have a beautiful presentation too! Spend a little time to make a special dessert and then spend a whole lot of time enjoying it with your loved ones!

If anyone has tried any of these recipes before or if one of them happens to be a favorite blogger of yours - I'd love to hear what you love about it so much in the comments below!

Completely dairy free, these chocolate coconut cupcakes taste like the real thing with a light and airy texture. The pink tint of the strawberry frosting adds a delicate touch making them perfect for Mother's Day!

When you're combining shortbread, pecans, coconut, chocolate and caramel into cookies, is it even possible to go wrong? Seven layers of dessert = seven layers of heaven.

Nothing screams Spring like citrus flavors and these Lemon Tarts are no exception. They're bright and creamy, made with almond flour crust and perfectly portioned for individual servings.

Consider the great debate of pie vs ice cream solved with this ice cream pie from Allergy Free Alaska! Combining these two dessert favorites results in one epic option drizzled in a salted caramel sauce.

What better use for in season produce than combining them to make a tasty, crumbly dessert like this Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp? If you're not familiar with rhubarbs, combing them with strawberries is a gentle way test it out on your taste buds.

These two ingredient Dark Chocolate Dipped Coconut Bites from Hungry by Nature are the perfect after meal treat. Just 10 minutes of your time and you'll satisfy every sweet tooth around.

Made with a few simple ingredients, this Dairy Free Paleo Bark makes a killer dessert option or an excellent homemade gift, perfect for Mother's Day! The recipe calls for coconut, chocolate chips and goji berries, but you could easily substitute in some of your favorite dried fruits or nuts too!

Does this recipe even need an explanation? I mean.. LOOK AT IT. If that's not the best looking chocolate cake I've ever seen then I really don't know what is.

Between lemon curd and strawberry shortcake, this parfait is basically summer time in a glass. With tons of variations to make this allergen friendly, this recipe will be loved by everyone you know.

Dessert doesn't get much easier than this two ingredient ice cream. Just combine mangoes and coconut milk for this delicious, guilt free treat!

The best part about these muffins isn't the chocolate. It's not the almond butter swirl on top that adds flavor or design. It's the fact that these are not only great for Mother's Day dessert, but the leftovers make the best lunch or snack throughout the week!

The only thing better than a strawberry tart is one that comes in mini form, like these from Love Food Nourish, so you don't have to share with anyone else! With this nutty coconut base and creamy filling, you'll want to claim every bite for yourself.

This recipe isn't strictly Paleo,  but if you allow a little goat's milk/cheese then you NEED to make these. Andrea from Forest and Fauna swears they're delicious and who am I to argue with her? These danishes are ideal for dessert (or breakfast!) and can have a variety of fillings to satisfy everyone's taste buds!

Dried cherries throughout give a unique flavor to these Dark Chocolate Cupcakes from Emma Eats & Explores. Top it with a dried cherry to take the appearance to a level fitting for your special Mother's Day treat!

When the temperature heats up outside and you don't want to turn your oven on, this Raw Key Lime pie is the solution. This creamy, no bake treat will give you the sweet citrus taste you want without heating up your house.

A twist on a traditional cobbler, this dish is topped with a pistachio crumble to give it a new flavor with the same crunch! Bake in a large pan for sharing or smaller ramekins for individual presentation.

Pecan pie has always been a favorite dessert of mine and Allergy Free Alaska took it to the next level by putting it into bar form.

Tell me donuts aren't meant for dessert and I'll tell you you're a liar. Especially if we're talking about these Almond Joy Donuts from Gluten Free Palate. This candy bar inspired donut can hold its own against the best of the desserts.
